I was surf fishing Mission Bay beach in San Diego 9-30-25, throwing sand crabs and all kinds of plastics. I pulled out the recently purchased dried lug worms, broke off a third size piece and threaded onto my hook. Tossed it out and I was getting hit on every cast, the barred surf perch bite was on! These weren’t monster fish but they were fun to catch. So many advantages using these baits. There are plenty in each package, no smelly slime on your hands and they stay on the hook fairly long. These baits will always be part of my fishing arsenal!

I really liked the dried lug worm. Unfortunately I was using a size 4 fook. Toooo big to hook what was stealing my bait. You may want to incorporate saing a size 6 or 8 hook would work a lot better.
